Last night, kd lang left me breathless. More psychically charged than I thought any performer, any performance, could ever do. Here is a February, 2008 performance of Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah, one of the few covers she sang last night, and when I tell you that this video, transporting as it is, is a mere shadow of what happened last night, I believe that not only the audience, but Leonard Cohen and kd lang herself, would agree.
